Hi,

It’s Kerwin here from Passrider.com.

I hope you are doing well and enjoying the Olympics. What’s your favorite moment so far?

If you’re thinking of heading to Paris, here is an article to help you - https://www.passrider.com/paris-olympics-2024-all-you-need-to-know/.

I was reading some of the comments from a previous survey and realized that many of you are not using your travel benefits as you just can’t stand the hassle of standby.

I completely get that! My parents are older and flying space available with them is just not happening as it’s too much hassle.

The good thing is that you can find some good fares if you plan a little ahead and you don’t have to fly annoying airlines :-).

On my trip to Farnborough, I flew on Norse for $123.00 from JFK to London. It was without a seat assignment, a meal, and a carry-on or checked bag as all those were extra. It was a stretch flying with a small bag, but I did it :-).

What you can do too is try to find flights on the normal airlines and buy the Basic Economy fare and if you have a credit card with the airline or elite status, the rules of the ticket usually don’t apply.

I did fly PLAY from Dublin to Keflavik to Boston, and they were surprisingly O.K. I was really surprised at how big their operation is in Iceland.

The only issue with low-cost carriers though is that when things happen, you may be stranded and have to buy another ticket. As such, I recommend getting travel insurance.
